Crispy Honey Chilli Potato 

Honey Chilli Potato basically an Indo-Chinese dish but taste is mostly acquired from china, where fried potato is tossed in a thick gravy of mixed spices and herbs, that is sour and little bit of sweetness in it, which ultimately enhance the taste. Sharing the recipe of 'Crispy Honey Chilli Potato' that is not only tasty but also very easy to make, this is semi-dry version and can be served as Veg starter or Snack.

Ingredients 

  • Potato 4 - 5 medium
  • Corn Flour 4 tbs
  • all Purpose Flour (Maida)  2 tbs
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as required
  • Oil for deep frying
  • Onion 1 big petals
  • Capsicum 1 small cubed
  • Green Chillis 2 - 3 slit
  • Spring Onion for Garnishing
  • Soya Sauce 1 tbs
  • Red Chilli Sauce 1 tbs
  • Tomato Sauce 2 tbs
  • Vinegar 1 tsp
  • Honey 1 tsp
  • Black Pepper 1/2 tsp
  • Corn Starch 2 tbs
  • Sesame seeds (opt) 

Method 

To start this recipe peel the potatoes, cut them into fingers size, and wash in running water to remove the extra starch. Now for frying, we will first coat the potatoes take a mixing bowl to add cornflour, maida, salt as per taste, 1/2 tsp of black pepper and add potato fingers. Coat them well, sieve the mixture, dust the excessive flour, and deep fry until golden brown and drain them out.
Now take 2 - 3 tbs of oil in a pan/ kadhai add chopped garlic, sliced onion, green chillies, ginger, chopped capsicum and saute them well at least 3 -4 mins. Add one tablespoon of soy sauce, vinegar, tomato ketchup, red chilli sauce and salt to taste, add corn starch (Cornflour+water) to the pan this will make the gravy thick then add fried potatoes once the gravy is thickened and coat them well in gravy/sauce. Now add Honey and mix them well, this will balance the flavour and give potatoes glossy look.
Your chilli Potato is ready to serve, garnish it with sesame seed and spring onion.

Honey Chilly Potato is perfect veg starter, the spicy flavorful with extra seasoning and herb makes it delight to have on party table

  • Do add Honey to this recipe, it is a complete game-changer as it not only enhance the taste but also highlight the recipe's texture
  • To make process easy add potato finger to hot water for five min. and drain them out, this will make potato half cooked.
