Dhania Ke Aloo

Chatpata snack made from fresh coriander leaves and lemon juice enjoyed all season, it is tangy, tasty and flavourful. Some people use it as their main course, some as evening  snack, to me it is best enjoyed in weekend brunch, strong flavor of coriander leaves and fresh lemon juice

  • Preparation Time 20 - 25 mins
  • Cooking Time 10 - 15 mins

Ingredients 

  • Potato ( Aloo) 500gm 
  • Fresh Coriander (washed and roughly chopped)  2 cups
  • Green chillis 4 - 5 (as per taste)
  • Curd 1 - 2 tablespoon
  • Fresh Lemon Juice  3 - 4 tbs
  • Oil 2 tbs
  • Salt to taste

Method 

To make this snack we will boil the potatoes first to 3 whistles. Add a little salt while boiling the potatoes. Now let it cool down properly. On the other hand in a blending jar take chopped coriander green chilies, curd, lemon juice, and salt now grind the chutney to a fine paste. Keep the chutney aside.

Now peel the potatoes and cut them into medium pieces. Now there are two methods of making it, you can just add the chutney to potatoes and enjoy it like this. But as you know this is My Kitchen... My Recipe... so this is My way of making it .. Heat the pan add 2 tbs of oil and roast the sliced potatoes for about 4 -5 mins. Turn off the flame wait for about 8 -10 mins. Add the chutney when potatoes comes to room temperature if you will add the chutney immediately into the pan the fresh green colour of the chutney will turn dark. So my suggestion is to wait for 8 - 10 mins and then add the chutney. Your snack is ready to serve.

Instant Kitchen Tip

  • Use ice cube while making the chutney instead of using water, this will retain the fresh green color of the chutney.
