Dahi Bade or Dahi Bhalle is a recipe that is loved by most but mastered by few, In a country like India it is a kind of craze to make Dahi bade during any kind of ceremony or festival, You will most likely to find it in marriage buffet or restaurant buffet. The Dahi Bade also known as Dahi Bhalle popularly known as in North India particularly in western UP, Delhi, Punjab, and Haryana. You will find them in every snack Kiosk/corner in this region or simply to say at every Chaat shop.

It is always challenging to make spongy and fluffy Bhalla or bade while making Dahi Bade, Today sharing an easy recipe of Dahi bade which you can master easily and though I will advise you to make them frequently so that you can master this recipe.

  • Preparation Time 5 - 7 mins
  • Cooking Time 10 mins
  • Pre Soaking 4 - 5 hrs

Ingredients

  • Urad Dal 1/2 cup
  • Green Chillis 3 chopped
  • Fresh Coriander 2 tbs
  • Black Pepper 1/2 tsp
  • Ginger 1/2 inch grated
  • Asafoetida 1/2 tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • Cumin Powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying

Method

Wash and soak the urad dal for 4 - 5 hrs. Drained the water and grind it smooth. Add salt and whisk it for a good 4 -5 mins in one direction. Now add green chillis, fresh coriander, ginger,  black pepper, asafoetida(Hing) mix everything well, and deep fry them in medium hot oil till golden brown. It will fluff to the double size if you put them immediately in lukewarm water. Soak for about 20 - 25 mins it will soak water well and becomes soft. Squeeze excess water and dip it in whisked curd. Add Imli ki chutney or tamarind sauce, Cumin Powder, Red Chilli Powder and serve chilled. Yummy Dahi Bade is ready to serve
