Aloo we all know is known as Potato, and Spinach is "Palak", Palak is rich in Iron and in Vitamin A-C, and K. this recipe is full of nutritious and delicious at the same time. Ingredients
- Blanched Palak Puree 1 cup
- Raw Potatoes 3 - 4 chopped in big chunks
- Onion 1 medium finely chopped
- Ginger-Garlic Paste 1 - 2 tsp
- Tomato
- Green chilies to taste
- Turmeric Powder 1/2 tsp
- Coriander Powder 1 tsp
- Red Chilli Powder to taste
- Garam Masala 1/2 tsp
- Coriander Seeds 1 tsp
- Bay Leaf
- Green Cardamom 1 - 2
- Cumin Seeds 1 tsp
- Oil 4 - 5 tbsp
- Water as required
Directions
- Heat oil in a pan and fry potatoes until golden.
- Blend ginger-garlic and tomatoes to a smooth paste.
- Now in the same pan reduce the oil to 2 tbsp and add cumin seeds, cardamom, coriander seeds, bay leaf and saute till it turns fragrant.
- Add chopped onions, green chilies and saute till turns translucent.
- Now add turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chili powder and cook till the rawness of dry masala goes away.
- Then add the tomato paste to the pan and cook everything well till the masala leaves the pan.
- Now add the palak puree and potatoes cover the lid and cook for 8 - 10 minutes on medium to low flame, adjust the consistency by adding water if required.
- At the end add garam masala, your Dhaba style aloo palak is ready!!
Instant Kitchenette Tip
- Add 1 tbs of cream or 2 tbs of milk to the gravy towards the end it will enhance the taste.
- Try to cook this dish in ghee or clarified butter it's a game-changer.
