Spring Roll

Spring roll is a classic Indo- Chinese evening snack, this easy homemade fried snack is a breeze to make once you perfect the technique of folding it. You can make them Vegan, Vegetarian or even non-vegetarian.

Ingredients

For Spring Roll sheets

  • Refined flour 2 Cups
  • Baking Soda 1/2 tsp
  • Oil 1 tbsp
  • Water 2 Cup
  • Salt to taste

For Stuffing Spring Rolls

  • Cabbage 1 cup shredded
  • Carrot 1 cup julian
  • Capsicum 1 Cup Chopped
  • Spring Onions 1/4 cup
  • Ginger/ Galic Chopped 1 tbsp
  • Green Chilli as per taste(2-3)
  • Soy Souce 1 tbsp
  • Red Chilli Sauce 1 tbsp
  • Vinegar 1 tsp
  • Pepper Powder 1 pinch
  • Sugar 1 pinch
  • Salt as per taste
  • Oil for deep fry

Spring Rolls perfect evening snacks & starters that can be Homemade
  • In a bowl add refined flour, baking soda, salt, water and make a smooth batter ensuring that there is no lump. and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, in a pan heat 1.5 tbsp of oil, add ginger garlic, green chillies and saute for 1 minute.
  • Now add julian carrots, capsicum, spring onions and saute them for 3 - 4 minutes on high flame, add salt, pepper powder, soya sauce, red chilli sauce, vinegar and sugar give a good mix.
  • Saute for few more seconds, turn off the flame and keep aside to cool down.
Spring Rolls wraps are tasty healthy that are crisp outside and full of sauté veggies inside


Spring Roll Sheets

  • Now take a dosa tawa set it on medium flame, pour a spoonful of batter and spread like a thin dosa, cook for 30 - 40 seconds and keep aside, your sheet is ready.
  • Make as many as you want.
  • Prepare a slurry (glue) 1 tbsp of refined flour and 2 tbsp of water, mix well and keep aside.

Method

  • Take the spring roll sheet, and place a spoonful of prepared stuffing, pull and fold over the corners tightly till reaches half the sheet.
  • Furthermore, fold over sides like an envelope leaving no air pockets. seal the edges with the prepared slurry.
  • Now heat oil in a kadhai/pan and fry the spring rolls on medium to low flame until they are crispy and golden. Your Vegetable Spring Rolls are ready to serve!!

Instant Kitchenette Tip

  • You can store your prepared sheets in the refrigerator for the future.
  • If you are avoiding oil, you can also bake these spring rolls at 320 degrees F.
