Matar Ki Chaat / Ghughri

One more winter delicacy that you can enjoy before winter departs. Peas Chaat or Matar ki Chaat best enjoyed during with Coriander chutney, made with fresh peas, potato and cooked with cumin seeds, with minimum effort you get maximum taste.

Ingredients

  • Fresh Green Peas  2 cup
  • Potatoes 2 medium cut into cubes
  • Green Chillies   3 - 4 (as per taste)
  • Ginger  1 inches Julian
  • Asafoetida 1 pinch
  • Fresh Coriander handful
  • Fresh lemon juice 2 tsp
  • Oil  2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste

Directions

Matar ki Chaat - Traditional winter evening snacks with load of Chillies and lemon that you make taste buds alive.
  • Heat oil in a pan/ kadhai over medium heat, add cumin seeds, and let it crackle.
  • Now add asafoetida, green chillies, and fry for a few seconds.
  • Add fresh green peas and potatoes and salt, mix well. cover the pan and let it cook on low flame until peas and potatoes are cooked.
  • Keep stirring occasionally.
  • When the potatoes and peas are cooked add fresh coriander, lemon juice, and toss lightly.
  • Serve hot with a cup of tea/coffee.

Instant Kitchenette Tip

  • You can add chat masala to make it even spicier.
