Best Seekh Kabab recipe ke liye seekh-na zaroori hai. The popular Chickpea kababs are also known as Shami Kababs. These kababs are packed with proteins and flavored with fennel seeds. Sometimes mixed with potato and cornflour to enhance taste, additionally, you can add herbs and cook them on low flame to retain the smoky flavors. These chickpeas are high in fiber and protein and contain several vitamins and minerals. A perfect dish for vegans 😋 also.

Ingredients

  • Kabuli Chana 1 cup pre-soaked
  • Potato  2 boiled and mashed
  • Onion 1 big chopped
  • Ginger 1 inch grated
  • Green Chilis to taste
  • Fresh Coriander handful
  • Cumin powder  1 tsp
  • Carom Seeds  1/2 tsp
  • Fennel Seeds  1 tsp
  • Red chili Powder to taste
  • Coriander Powder  1 tbsp
  • Amchur Powder  2 tsp
  • Garam Masala  1/2 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Rock Salt to taste
  • Oil/Ghee for frying
  • Lemon Juice  1 tbsp
  • Gram Flour roasted  1/4 cup

Direction

Veg Shami Kabab made with chickpea and potato mix with mild spices, herb and hang curd, cook them in low flame to retain smoky flavours
  • Soak the kabuli chana overnight, drain the water, and pressure cook them till they are soft.
  • Mash them coarsely.
  • Add red chili powder, cumin powder, carom seeds, fennel seeds, coriander powder, amchur powder. garam masala, salt, rock salt, chopped onion, grated ginger, green chilies, fresh coriander, roasted gram flour, mashed potatoes, and all the other ingredients.
  • Mix everything well.
  • Take the mixture in your hands and give it a cylinder shape and fix it in a skewer. you can dip your hands in water to prevent the mixture from sticking to your palms.
  • Set a pan on medium heat, add ghee/oil, and grill the seekh from all the sides until golden brown in color.
  • You can also grill them in open fire and do apply the ghee/oil at regular intervals for getting the golden color.
  • Your chickpea Seekh Kababs are ready to be served, serve them hot by squeezing a fresh lemon. serve with chutney and some fresh mint leaves and sliced onions.

  • Use ghee/clarified butter to grill these kababs.
  • You can also make these kababs with Bengal grams/ kale chana also.
