This is a really simple breakfast recipe, who doesn't love poha ? Poha made from flatten rice is common and found in every breakfast table around India specially in central/western India. Bread Poha is just another variation to your favorite poha, Made with broken bread slice, some seasonal veggies, and mild spices. It is a modern twist to old poha ways of recipes

Ingredients

  • Bread slices  4 - 5 chopped into cubes
  • Onion 1 big chopped
  • Tomato 2 - 3 chopped
  • Green Peas 2 - 3 tbsp
  • Green Chilis to taste
  • Mustard Seeds 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin Seeds 1/2 tsp
  • Curry Leaves 
  • Turmeric Powder 1/2 tsp
  • Red Chili Powder to taste
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil 2 tbsp
  • Lemon Juice 1 tbsp
  • Fresh Coriander handful

Directions


Bread Poha an ideal snack for breakfast and is not only healthy but also simple and easy to make. It is made with leftover bread and few ingredients, takes less cooking time and is cost effective.
  • In a pan heat oil, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and curry leaves.
  • Once they began to splutter, add finely chopped green chilies, onions and saute them.
  • Now add the chopped tomatoes and cook them till they become soft.
  • Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, and green peas saute for another 2 - 3 minutes.
  • Now add chopped bread slices, saute it and garnish with fresh coriander and lemon juice. 

Instant Kitchenette Tip

  • Use brown bread/oats to make them healthier.
