Bread Poha / Upma
This is a really simple breakfast recipe, who doesn't love poha ? Poha made from flatten rice is common and found in every breakfast table around India specially in central/western India. Bread Poha is just another variation to your favorite poha, Made with broken bread slice, some seasonal veggies, and mild spices. It is a modern twist to old poha ways of recipes
Ingredients
- Bread slices 4 - 5 chopped into cubes
- Onion 1 big chopped
- Tomato 2 - 3 chopped
- Green Peas 2 - 3 tbsp
- Green Chilis to taste
- Mustard Seeds 1/2 tsp
- Cumin Seeds 1/2 tsp
- Curry Leaves
- Turmeric Powder 1/2 tsp
- Red Chili Powder to taste
- Salt to taste
- Oil 2 tbsp
- Lemon Juice 1 tbsp
- Fresh Coriander handful
Directions
- In a pan heat oil, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and curry leaves.
- Once they began to splutter, add finely chopped green chilies, onions and saute them.
- Now add the chopped tomatoes and cook them till they become soft.
- Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, and green peas saute for another 2 - 3 minutes.
- Now add chopped bread slices, saute it and garnish with fresh coriander and lemon juice.

- Use brown bread/oats to make them healthier.
