Besan Ka Chilla - Gram flour Pancakes
Who doesn't want their breakfast to be easier and quicker? Well!! Today we will share with you one of the oldest and finest recipes of Pancakes that are traditionally acquired in India. Chillas or Pancakes are used as breakfast all over the world, this recipe of gram flour chilla is easy and less time-consuming in the kitchen.
Chilla is healthy due to the protein-rich gram flour batter with finely chopped veggies(optional) makes this favorite among all age groups. You will immediately feel the taste and essence of carrom seeds that is used as a primary ingredient in chillas, the crisp and tasty chilla will make your breakfast or kids lunchbox more appetising and appealing.

Ingredients
- Besan ( gram flour) 1 cup
- Onion 1 medium ( finely chopped)
- Green Chillies 2 ( finely chopped)
- Turmeric 1 tsp
- Carom Seeds 1 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Water as required
- Oil for roasting
Method
- In a large mixing bowl take 1 cup besan, and 1/2 cup water and whisk it well to form a smooth batter. ( add more water if required)
- Add turmeric, salt and mix it again.
- Now add chopped onions, green chilies, coriander
- Keep the batter aside and let it rest for 10 - 15 mins.
- After resting mix the batter well and adjust the consistency, we need a flowy batter.
- Heat a pan and pour the batter with the help of a ladle, spread it gently.
- Pour some oil on the sides and cook it on medium to low flame.
- Now flip the chilla and cook it from both sides till it turns golden. Serve hot!!
Instant Kitchnette Tip
- Add vegetables of your choice.
- You can add cheese to the chilla.
